Catharsis

catharsis.jpg

Catharsis: 1 a) purification or purgation of the emotions (as pity and fear) primarily through art
1 b) a purification or purgation that brings about spiritual renewal or release from tension
2 elimination of a complex by bringing it to consciousness and affording it expression

I have been having some difficult times again. Most the time I try to stay cheerful, but it is difficult sometimes. This picture allowed me to express some of the feelings I hide, and otherwise do not allow myself to feel.

I feel much better for having "afforded it expression".

... that and the shopping spree at IKEA helped a bit :D

This picture truly is amazing! You did wonderful job at displaying the emotions. I'm sorry your having a hard time...:(

Jeff:

after goin' through all your art (i discoverd the site on ff7citadel) this one hit me personally. to me it's like wanting to hide away in the shadows. right now i'm on deployment in japan missin' my daughter and all i keep hearin' about is the dead-beat dads that i'm tryin' not to be.

anyways, sorry to ramble on, keep up the good stuff comin' and i'm lookin' forward to more pieces by you.
Teddylot:

Very nice.

The position and body language do the piece a lot of justice.

Nice color choices, too.

The only thing that throws me off a bit is the top hand. It would have to be under a bit more tension to keep such a position, so the addition of a few shadows to show that would be nice. Also, how the joint of the hand seems a bit off.

Keep up the good work and I hope you've cheered up a bit.
